Fast forward

Honoured to serve as Sorell Councillor for another four years, elected in October 2022 from a field of 19 candidates, one of a record six women now on Sorell’s nine-member council.

Sorell remains one of the fastest growing municipalities in the state, with large subdivisions, major roadworks, streetscape upgrades, new sports stadium, school upgrade, jobs hub, emergency services hub, vibrant small businesses, more playgrounds and now the long awaited Child & Family Learning Centre.

Council has a skilled staff team, well established finance and asset management systems and a regional approach that support jobs, education and prudent future development. After a decade of rapid growth Council is now investing in stronger community engagement, natural resource management, social connection and active transport so that houses become homes in places people cherish; places where more local people work, learn, play, volunteer and continue to care for one another and enjoy our stunning natural surrounds; places where communities collaborate and flourish.

Sorell Council’s first Natural Resource Management & Environment Advisory Group formed in November 2023 and I’m delighted to be the inaugural chair, getting to know the expert members and working together to support the NRM program.
